Strengthening the Ohgiya brand power, and challenges for cultivating customers

As of the end of March 2008, Ohgiya Corporation owned 353 outlets of the yakitori pub chain “Bincho Ohgiya” nationwide (including 263 direct-run outlets and 90 franchise stores). “Bincho Ohgiya” was ranked 94th nationwide in the sales category of the fiscal 2007 restaurant ranking (of The Nikkei Marketing Journal).

To further strengthen the Ohgiya brand, Ohgiya Corporation focuses on stably purchasing safe and reliable foodstuffs, raising values of major menus such as yakitori and kamameshi (rice boiled with various ingredients in a small pot), and offering products at an appropriate temperature and in a short time. The company regards such serving temperature and serving time as basic values.

On top of the above, Ohgiya Corporation is conducting research and development of bincho charcoal (a kind of high-quality charcoal), which supports one of major features of the company’s products, and making active investments in smoke control systems at its outlets. Besides, in order to fulfill our social responsibility as a company offering alcoholic drinks, we have launched a unique drink-driving prevention operation, in which we use colored coasters. Under this operation, the whole company and all outlets are making all-out efforts not to sell alcoholic drinks to drivers and minors.

From now on, we will aim to daringly realize a 1,000-outlet system nationwide, with the key point “Bincho Ohgiya” that is loved and relied on by the community.
